What is PFLAG?
PFLAG stands for Parents, Families and Friends of Lesbians and Gays. PFLAG Perth is a volunteer run, non-profit organisation in Western Australia, providing a support system for families and friends of people who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender or intersex (LGBTI), along with education and advocacy in the community.
How We Help
PFLAG Perth offers peer support through our phone line and support group meetings held every second month. Our meetings provide a confidential and warm environment where people can share concerns and receive comfort and reassurance. Everyone is welcome to come along.
Our phone line is a vital part of our support system. We provide the opportunity to talk in a time of need and can give referrals to other relevant organisations and professionals.

Through pro-active community involvement and media exposure we hope to change attitudes, dispel myths and misinformation about sexual and gender identity and create understanding, respect, equality and acceptance for people in the gay and lesbian community.
PFLAG Perth has been involved in many programs run by Government departments and community organisations. We were especially proud to be a part of the lobby group for decriminalising homosexuality, which was successfully passed in 1989.
As we move into the future, one of our goals is to continue working with the Equal Opportunity Commission to address bullying and discrimination based on gender and sexual identity in WA schools.
